Salary: £18,000 - £18,500 basic + uncapped commission
 
Are you a sales and business development professional, looking for an exciting and rewarding career opportunity? Perhaps you’re working in a sales office but you no longer want to be stuck at your desk and you would like the freedom of going out to find business and attend meetings and networking events?
 
My client is looking to recruit a permanent Business Development Executive to grow and develop their client base in Cumbria and southwest Scotland. Previous experience in B2B sales is highly desirable, although B2C sales will also be considered.
 
Responsibilities will include:
  • Growing and developing a local client base through prospecting and introducing yourself to local businesses
  • Being accountable for generating new business through networking and marketing opportunities
  • Taking ownership, following up on leads and enquiries and being hungry to secure new business
  • Constantly seeking new opportunities and staying up to date with market and competitor activity
  • Arranging and attending client meetings, identifying needs and providing solutions to those problems by suitably recommending products and services
  • Developing strong relationships with your clients, ensuring their needs are met and maintaining regular contact
  • Monitoring sales activities and reports and playing a key part in sales team meetings
  • Liaising with suppliers to actively source products and services for clients
  • Managing all aspects of own administration, including confidential and sensitive information and documentation
  • Use of CRM system to record all client information and to ensure that regular contact is scheduled
 
Skills and Experience:
  • Personality is key for this role and we are looking to speak to candidates with energy and presence
  • Confident communication skills are a must
  • You must be professional and unflappable in pressurised situations
  • Strong commercial acumen is a must; you will be hungry and always looking for the next sales opportunity or way to raise your profile
  • Strong IT skills and the ability to pick up new systems
  • You must have the ability to influence and negotiate
  • Due to the nature of this role, own transport is essential
