We are currently recruiting for a purchasing position based near Penrith.
 
Job Type: Permanent
Salary: £16-£17,000/Annum (Experience Dependent)
Hours: Monday to Friday 9:00am until 5:30pm
 
This role would suit somebody who is looking to start a career in Purchasing such as a graduate, or someone that has already been working in a similar position, looking to develop further.
 
The role:
Working closely with and under supervision from the Purchasing Manager you will be responsible for buying the best quality products at the most competitive prices. Through effective negotiation, networking and dealing with numbers, you will help the company save money and increase profits.
 
Responsibilities
  • Conduct research to ascertain the best products and suppliers in terms of best value, delivery schedules and quality
  • Liaise between suppliers, manufacturers, relevant internal departments and customers
  • Build and maintain good relationships with new and existing suppliers
  • Negotiate prices and contracts
  • Process payments and invoices
  • Keep contract files and use them as reference for the future
  • Attend meetings
  • Keep check on stock levels
